LifeGroup eNews, May 2012

As we begin this busy month of May, we'd like to remind you of a few upcoming events:

Man to Man on Wednesday, May 9th

Come join David Chadwick and John Kasey as they continue their conversation on being a man of God. This session will center around a man and his wife. The event will be held from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm in the Charis Room at the South Park campus and all campuses are invited.

Women Under Construction on Monday, May 14th

7-9 pm
Sanctuary on the South Park campus

Sometimes it seems easier to trust God with our trials and troubles than with our hopes and dreams. At times we may wonder, "Does God even care about my heart's desires?" And what do we do when answers to prayer seem slow in coming? Bring your friends and neighbors and join David and Marilynn Chadwick for an evening of dessert and discussion on the subject of Wait Training: Learning how to hold onto your hope when all around you looks hopeless.

You'll hear personal stories of answered prayer and even miracles. But let's face it. Most of life is spent waiting for the answers to our prayers. So it pays to learn to "wait well" as we're watching for God to work. Discover how your days in the "waiting room" can be filled with faith, purpose, and joy.

There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.
Proverbs 23:18

After the program, enjoy dessert, coffee and conversation with friends. You can purchase the ever-popular SEEDS Beads with proceeds going to empower women and children in Africa. You can also buy Marilynn's recently released book, Sometimes He Whispers, Sometimes He Roars: Learning to Hear the Voice of God. She will be in the atrium to sign your copy.

Tickets are $8 and must be purchased in advance. Click here to register. Childcare is not provided for this event.

Immediate volunteer opportunities at Quail Hollow Middle School

Quail Hollow Middle school is gearing up for end of year testing! All state tests require that in addition to the teacher Administrator of the test, an adult Proctor must be in the room to ensure test security. The Proctor will assist in handing out materials and monitoring the students during the test.

Testing will run from 9:30am to 12:30pm each day. A brief REQUIRED training session will be held each morning of testing from 9:05-9:25. Each Proctor must attend training one time.

If you are able to help, please email Jaime McCaughna, Testing Coordinator for Quail Hollow at jaimes.mccaughna@cms.k12.nc.us or text her at 540.220.3148. Please include the dates for which you are available!
